Top 25 Songs of 2013

This is the first part of several for my end of the year wrap up. All together 2013 was a pretty good year for music. In my first part I'm going over my 25 favorite songs of the year. Keep in mind this my opinion, and there are other fantastic songs I may have missed or just are not for me.

25. Darkthrone- "Leave No Cross Unturned"
True kvlt black metal with an 80's twist.

24. Bring Me The Horizon- "Shadow Moses"
 Really surprised by the quality of their new stuff.

23. Justin Timberlake- "Suit and Tie"
 Neo soul is the new thing in R&B and I can't get enough of it.

22. My Bloody Valentine- "Who Sees You"
 The shoegazing kings are back and this does not disappoint.
21. Chance the Rapper- "Cocoa Butter Kisses (feat. Vic Mensa and Twista)"
Really awesome track, excited for his future stuff.

20. Tera Melos- "Weird Circles"
 
Poppy math rock, an awesome jam.

19. Kanye West- "Blood on The Leaves"
Kanye and TNGHT have created a Trap masterpiece.

18. FIDLAR- "Cheap Beer"
Pre-game punk at its finest.

17. Nails- "Tyrant"
43 seconds of pure rage.

16. Vampire Weekend- "Step"
 Vampire Weekend finally decided to grow up and it sounds awesome.

15. Dads- "Boat Rich"
Probably at the forefront of the 90's emo revival, great two-piece.

14. Ghost- "Monstrance Clock"
 
Hail satan, that is all.

13. Pity Sex- "Drown Me Out"
Fuzzy guitar pop punk done right.

12. Drake- "Hold On, We're Going Home"

11. Former States- "Stone Angel"
Best pop punk release of 2013 by far.

10. Earl Sweatshirt- "Burgundy (feat. Vince Staples)"\
Vince Staples is one great feature, and The Neptunes production is great.

9. Balance and Composure- "Reflection"
A lot of 90's alternative influence here.

8. Their/ They're/ There- "Apocalypse (Not Right) Now
Anything Evan Weiss is involved with is pure gold, plus Mike Kinsella...

7. This Town Needs Guns- "Cat Fantastic"
Slick and laid back math rock, has a strong American Football influence.

6. Daft Punk- "Get Lucky (feat. Pharrell Williams)"
Disco is back and better than ever.

5. James Blake- "Retrograde"
Melding soul and dubstep in something truly beautiful.

4. A$AP Rocky- "Lvl"
Clams Casino is a hell of a producer, probably the best song on the album.

3. The Weeknd- "Kiss Land"
The song version of why nothing good happens after 3am.

2. Tigers Jaw- "Hum"
Tigers Jaw come back from a short hiatus, very good sign of things to come from the PA indie/emo band.

1. Deafheaven- "Sunbather"
This song is absolutely mammoth, blends shoegaze, screamo and black metal in a hauntingly beautiful track.
